We often hear that most of the Asian people look the same such as Chinese ,Japanese or Korean people. So, what might be the scientific reason behind this similarity?Actually, the answer is hidden in the science of genetics. The sub-branch of the genetics, population genetics, asserts that the genetic variation within the populations, change over space and time because of the changes in the frequencies of genes and alleles in the populations. Looking the historical events we can clearly see that the genetic structure of China population didn't change more compared with the past.  According to some group of scientist from Genomic Institute of Singapore,The Han Chineses constitute more than 90% of China's population since about 200 BC. Modern Han people are still carrying the alleles inherited from the ancient Han population.

Other than that, there are strong evidence from anthropological studies which reveal that there were not many immigrations in that region on that time. Thereby, the population didn't get any chance to alter its allele frequency between different populations. In fact, mating among the members of population was really isolated.

To conclude, it is hard to distinguish between them for many people. You could never know the identity of a person when you are talking to him. Maybe, other personal distinguishable features can help you guess him.Despite the way Westerners portray Asians in stereotypical ways, it is good to remember that each person's character originally coming from Asia should be as distinct from each other as most Western countries are.
